Marketing for Canadian home goods brands on Shopify
Ads and emails that respect Canada's anti-spam law. From $1,500 USD a month.
Métricamente offers Meta and Google ads and abandoned-cart and repeat-order emails to home goods brands on Shopify that sell in Canada. Every 15 days you see what you sold and what each ad dollar returned. The fee starts at $1,500 USD a month, and you pay your ad spend directly to Meta or Google.
What changes when the store is in Canada?
Mostly the email. Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, CASL, is stricter than the US rules: you need consent before sending a commercial email, and every email must say who sent it and include a way to unsubscribe.
Consent can be express, when someone ticks a box to receive your emails, or implied in some cases. Under section 10 of the Act, a purchase creates a business relationship for the two years before the email is sent, and an inquiry for the six months before. The maximum penalty per violation is 1 million Canadian dollars for an individual and 10 million for a business, under section 20.
In practice, a CASL-aware store asks for email consent at checkout and in its sign-up forms, records where each contact came from, and sends marketing flows only to people with valid consent. That is the setup we build. It is not legal advice: confirm it with your lawyer.
Does CASL apply to abandoned cart emails?
Usually, yes. A reminder that asks someone to come back and buy is a commercial electronic message, so it needs consent. Someone who only added to cart hasn't bought, so the two-year purchase window doesn't cover them. Whether leaving a cart counts as an "inquiry" under the six-month rule is debatable, so don't build on it. The safe route is express consent at checkout or in a sign-up form, and cart emails only to people who gave it. This is not legal advice: confirm it with your lawyer.
Will we work the same hours?
Our team is in Cali, Colombia, on UTC−5 all year. In winter that is Toronto's time; Vancouver is three hours behind us in winter and two in summer. The founder, Joseph Ceballos, runs your calls and your reports in English.
What proof do you have?
Between June 2025 and September 2026, Joseph ran the ads of three European Shopify stores selling sofa covers, from inside each brand's team. They sold €2,758,690 in 38,168 orders, according to Shopify Analytics, counting everything the stores sold, not only what came from ads. One of the three sold 5% less than in the previous 16 months. The full numbers are in the case study.
What does it cost?
From $1,500 USD a month for Meta and Google ads, tracking and the report. Emails are quoted in writing. If your store already sells, we sign a goal: by day 60, each month you sell at least five times our monthly fee more than before, $7,500 USD on the $1,500 plan, or we keep working for free until you do. You still pay your ad spend. See pricing.
Questions from Canadian stores
Does CASL apply to abandoned cart emails?
Usually, yes. A cart reminder that asks someone to buy is a commercial electronic message, and someone who only added to cart hasn't made a purchase, so the two-year window doesn't apply. The safe setup is express consent at checkout and reminders only to people who gave it. This is not legal advice: confirm it with your lawyer.
How long does implied consent last under CASL?
Two years after a purchase and six months after an inquiry, under the definition of an existing business relationship in section 10 of the Act. A new purchase starts the two years again. This is not legal advice: confirm it with your lawyer.
Do you charge in Canadian dollars?
No. Our fee is set in US dollars, from $1,500 a month. Your ad spend goes directly from you to Meta or Google, in the currency of your ad account.
Do you work with stores in both Canada and the US?
Yes. We take home goods brands on Shopify in the US and Canada, and we work in English.
