Guide · Shopify agency pricing
How much does a Shopify marketing agency cost?
What agencies charge, what you get for it, and the math that tells you if a fee pays for itself.
A Shopify marketing agency usually costs between $1,500 and $3,000 a month for one channel, like Meta ads, if your store sells under $500,000 a year. Multi-channel work for bigger stores runs from $4,000 to $20,000 a month. Your ad spend is extra, and you pay it to Meta or Google, not to the agency.
Those ranges come from the 2026 price guide of AI Advantage Agency (June 2026). It is an agency selling the same service, so read it as what agencies ask, not as a market study. We found no independent one.
What do agencies charge, by store size?
| Store revenue per year | Typical scope | Fee per month |
|---|---|---|
| Under $500K | One service or a specialist freelancer | $1,500–$3,000 |
| $500K–$1M | One or two channels | $2,500–$5,000 |
| $1M–$3M | Several channels on one retainer | $4,000–$8,000 |
| $3M–$10M | Full service | $8,000–$20,000 |
Flat fee or a percentage of ad spend?
Most agencies charge one of two ways: a flat monthly fee, or a cut of what you spend on ads. AI Advantage Agency puts that cut at 10% to 20%. Limelight Marketing quotes 10% to 30% with monthly minimums.
A percentage sounds fair until you scale. At 15% of $20,000 a month in ads, you pay $3,000 for the same work you paid $1,500 for at $10,000. The agency also earns more when you spend more, even if the extra spend sells nothing. Below $10,000 to $15,000 a month in ads, the same AI Advantage guide says a flat fee is almost always the better deal for a Shopify brand.
What should the fee include?
Ask for it in writing, line by line. For a home goods store, a fair ads retainer covers:
- Setting up and checking conversion tracking, so Shopify and Meta agree on what sold.
- New ads tested every month, with the copy and briefs for the photos or videos.
- Budget changes as results come in, not once a month.
- A report in sales and orders, not in reach and clicks.
Things that are often extra: producing the photos or videos, email flows in Klaviyo, landing pages, and the Shopify apps you need.
How do I know if a fee pays for itself?
Divide the fee by your gross margin. That is how much extra you need to sell each month just to cover the agency. A hypothetical example: a $1,500 fee and a 40% margin after product and shipping costs means $3,750 in extra sales a month before the agency earns you a dollar.
| Your gross margin | Extra sales to cover a $1,500 fee |
|---|---|
| 30% | $5,000 |
| 40% | $3,750 |
| 50% | $3,000 |
| 60% | $2,500 |
If an agency can't say how it will measure those extra sales, don't sign yet. Ask what it counts: everything the store sold, or only what the ad platform credits to the ads. Both numbers matter, and they are never the same. We explain the difference in what a good ROAS is for home goods.
What does Métricamente charge?
Our ads plan starts at $1,500 a month for Meta and Google ads, tracking and a report every 15 days with what you sold and what each ad dollar returned. Abandoned-cart and repeat-order emails are quoted in writing. Ad spend is yours, paid directly to the platforms.
If your store already sells, we sign a goal: by day 60, each month you sell at least five times our monthly fee more than before, $7,500 on the $1,500 plan. If we miss it, we keep working for free until we hit it (you still pay your ad spend). The details are on our pricing page.
Questions about agency pricing
How much does a Shopify marketing agency cost per month?
Between $1,500 and $3,000 a month for one channel at a store under $500,000 a year, and from $4,000 to $20,000 a month for multi-channel work at bigger stores, according to a June 2026 price guide published by AI Advantage Agency. Ad spend is paid separately to Meta or Google.
Is a percentage of ad spend or a flat fee better?
Below roughly $10,000 to $15,000 a month in ad spend, a flat fee usually costs less and doesn't reward the agency for spending more, according to a 2026 price guide by AI Advantage Agency. The same guide puts percentage pricing at 10% to 20% of ad spend, most common above that level.
Does the agency fee include my ad budget?
No. The fee pays for the work. The ad budget goes from your card directly to Meta, Google or TikTok, and the ad accounts should be in your name.
How much should I sell to justify an agency?
At least the fee divided by your gross margin, every month, in extra sales. With a $1,500 fee and a 40% margin, that is $3,750 a month just to break even on the agency.
